Businesses use intelligence systems to understand and target their customers. It is rare for schools to undertake such work. The Skills Lab recognises that Business Intelligence is not simply about installing software. Instead it is a significant cultural change programme where teachers begin to look at the child beyond their attainment data. We design such programmes and run them too if required.

Ethnography is the research process which observe and study human behaviour in context. Businesses and mareketing companies have used this to gain valuable insight and an insider perspective of a customer’s values, beliefs, and behaviours. Active Inquiry - innovate for better outcomes
Active inquiry is is a reflective process of progressive problem which improved practice whilst teachers actively participate in organisational change. Teachers work as part of a “community of practice” to improve the way they address issues and solve problems. The Skills Lab uses innovation processes from the world of Design Thinking to facilitates school staff to undertake a process active inquiry whilst undertaking a school improvement project.

Spaces can affect our behaviour; impact the outcome of our experiences and productivity. Businesses have long been aware that in order to develop key skills in their employees and create collaborative, creative and productive teams – they need to invest in spaces, both physical and online, that allows a culture of collaboration to flourish.
